The crossing of a mile stone

The CSI Christ church, Ambattur has now come of age. The church had its humble beginnings in the early 50s. Later after being awarded a land in the centre of the town by the then collector the church building was constructed and dedicated on the 7th February 1967, by the then Bishop Leslie Newbigin. From then on it has grown in stature, in size, and in its function and ministries. Today the present building is not able to accommodate all its members and the need was felt for constructing a brand new building.

Today the 7th February 2010 is that day – the crossing of a mile stone. The present Bishop V. Devasahayam is coming over to have a confirmation service where 87 candidates are to be confirmed, a prayer in the temporary site where the transit shed would be built to have the worship services as the existing building place would be a place of construction and to have a symbolic act of demolishing the existing structure is to happen. The church has already obtained the required permission from the CMDA, the diocese, and the local authorities. The plan and the drawings have been completed by reputed architects and consultants. Now its time for us to fix up the right builder who would execute the entrusted work. All what is now required is the constant prayers, complete faith and dedication for the work, a free and a whole hearted giving for this task. As you read these words, we pray that the spirit of God would convince you to become a part in this Endeavour. This is surely the Lords doing! It is marvelous in our eyes.
